Polyethylene pipes - RENO DREDGE
Black high density polyethylene pipes with a white inner layer made of a specifically designed polyolefin for enhanced resistance to abrasion in dredging operations both in freshwater and marine environments.
PROPERTIES
Resistance to abrasion
The material forming the inner layer of RENO DREDGE pipes ensures outstanding resistance to abrasion (40 times higher compared to steel), consistent with the long-term performance required for dredging operations, during which the conveyance of sands, sludges and solids, also with high flow velocity, could lead to the erosion of the inner wall of the piping system.
Resistance to chemical and electrochemical corrosion
The remarkable chemical inertness of the range of RENO DREDGE pipes allows their long term use with mixtures based on sea water and air used in dredging operations, these activities being generally very corrosive towards metallic pipes. If needed data can be derived for the evaluation of the chemical resistance of RENO DREDGE pipes in international guidelines (e.g. ISO/TR 10358).
Lightness
Being the base material characterized by a lower density than water, RENO DREDGE pipes are much lighter compared to those produced either on concrete or metal, making all dredging operations much easier and simpler and thus improving the safety of the involved operators.

Flexibility
The intrinsic flexural properties of the base material allows the adjustment of RENO DREDGE pipes to the topography of the seabed highly simplifying the activities of placement of the dredging pipelines.
Load losses
The very low roughness coefficient of RENO DREDGDE pipes, 5 times lower than steel and more than 100 times lower than concrete, greatly reduces the load losses allowing higher flow rates at constant passage section and reducing
the execution time of the dredging activities.
Impact resistance
The excellent impact resistance enables the use of RENO DREDGE pipes also at low temperatures even in the case of stress due to external forces, e.g. due to currents and heavy seas, since the walls of the pipes are able to absorb tensions caused by underwater currents.
